Job summary
We are looking for a confident CAMHS professional with a demonstrable track record, within CAMHS, of providing good quality evidence-based interventions and improving service quality.
You will be a Mental Health Nurse, Systemic Family Psychotherapist, Psychologist, Art Psychotherapist, Social Worker, Child Psychotherapist, CBT Therapist or Occupational Therapist with the requisite professional registration. The community served is multi-ethnic and culturally diverse and we welcome applicants who are skilled at working with the richness and complexity of this multicultural context.
You would be joining a comprehensive and dynamic CAMH service, within one of our new MHSTs, located in either Central Bedfordshire or Luton, delivering a substantial stepped model of care following the needs-led i-Thrive framework.
Your role will help to develop and deliver a wide range of interventions, projects and system changes with the aim of the whole school and whole community approaches to supporting young people's mental health. In addition to providing comprehensive consultation, assessment, risk management and interventions for young people experiencing emotional and mental health difficulties in schools, the post-holder will also clinically supervise colleagues. There may be an option of supervisor training at Reading University.
Main duties of the job
The Mental Health Support Teams are part of an exciting trailblazer project funded by NHS England, Health Education England and partners, with the aim of improving the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people in the community.
There is a specific focus on developing more access to helping and improving the general culture of emotional support within all primary and secondary schools including special educational provisions and PRUs. Working alongside community partners the Mental Health Support Teams will be fully integrated with community CAMHS and educational settings.

Qualifications
Essential
1. MA (or equivalent) in Art Therapy, Music Therapy, Drama therapy and or Dance Movement Psychotherapy.
2. Registration with the HCPC for Art Therapy, Music therapy or Drama therapy
3. For Dance Movement Psychotherapies: Registration with ADMP UK
Desirable
4. Membership of Arts Therapies Professional Body
5. Clinical Supervision Training
6. Further training in an area of psychological practice relevant to the post's clinical area
7. CBT Training
Experience
Essential
8. Post qualification experience as an Arts Therapist working with the client group that this post is linked to in both individual and group work
9. Experience of working with Service Users with challenging needs
10. Experience of assessing service users and making recommendations to a Multi-disciplinary team
11. Experience of providing teaching and training sessions regarding the benefits of the Arts and Arts Therapies to a variety of audiences
12. Experience of working as an Arts Therapist in a Multi-disciplinary team
