We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Secondary Tutor in Reading to provide personalised educational support to students. Whether you specialise in Maths, English, Science, or another secondary subject, this role allows you to make a real difference in the lives of young people.
If you have experience supporting students with SEN, including Autism (ASD), ADHD, Dyslexia, or other learning needs, and can create tailored learning plans, we'd love to hear from you.
- Plan and deliver engaging, subject-specific sessions tailored to the needs of secondary-aged students.
- Provide one-to-one or small group tuition, adapting teaching strategies to support students with SEN.
- Assess individual learning needs and create personalised schemes of work.
- Support students to develop confidence, independence, and a love for learning.
- Monitor and evaluate progress, providing constructive feedback to students, parents, or carers.
- Create a positive and supportive learning environment that fosters growth and achievement.
- Specialised in a secondary subject (e.g., Maths, English, Science, Humanities, etc.) with a passion for education.
- Experienced in working with students with SEN, including ASD, ADHD, Dyslexia, and other needs.
- Skilled in assessing, planning, and delivering tailored learning interventions.
- Patient, empathetic, and committed to helping students succeed.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with students and families.
- Relevant teaching or tutoring experience (QTS or specialist SEN qualifications are desirable but not essential).
- Understanding of SEN strategies and interventions for secondary-aged students.
- A valid DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check or willingness to obtain one.
- Flexibility to work part-time hours tailored to student availability.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
