VANRATH are assisting our client, in their search for an experienced Finance Officer. The role of the Finance Officer is to assist the Finance Manager and Director of Corporate Services in the efficient and effective financial management of the organisation. The post is part of a small finance team, who work closely together to manage the finances of the whole organisation. Salary: £38,600 36 hours per week 8.30am - 4.30pm working hours Key Responsibilities: Processing monthly salaries including related monthly and annual returns in relation to matters such as salaries, superannuation, income tax and the employment of temporary staff etc. Participating in ensuring the security and safe keeping of assets and resources Supervising the preparation and recording of bank lodgements and efficient cash handling of funds Supervising the operation of the petty cash system Supervising the operations of the accounts payable function Reconciliation of Credit Card statements Preparing monthly bank reconciliations and cash flow reports Preparing and inputting journals to the computerised accounts system Assist in the production of monthly management accounts and reviews of departmental expenditure. Assist in preparation of the statutory accounts for each financial year in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and accounting standards. Assist in the preparation of the Annual Budget and 3-year Financial Plans Ensure that financial policies, processes, procedures, and controls are applied consistently and documented properly in accordance with an up-to-date Financial Policies and Procedures Manual. Essential Criteria Recognised CCAB accountancy qualification (CA Ireland, ICAEW, ACCA, CIPFA, ICAS) or strong experience with a part-qualification. Experience of using and developing computerised financial systems and procedures. Excellent analytical skills and problem-solving skills.
