General Description: The Transport & Logistics Manager will oversee both strategic and day-to-day operations, ensuring efficient use of company resources. You will manage the dispatch and returns process, maintain a safe working environment, and liaise across departments like Technical Operations, Inventory, and Project Management to meet the transport and delivery needs of the business. You’ll also play a key role in maintaining our fleet, ensuring compliance, and leading a team to meet key performance indicators.
Key Responsibilities
* Project Coordination: Collaborate with the Projects Team to ensure transportation needs are planned and executed effectively.
* Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and manage the Transport and Logistics team, ensuring they meet KPIs.
* Logistics Operations: Oversee the dispatch and returns process, ensuring efficient turnaround of returned equipment for hire stock.
* Compliance & Regulations: Ensure compliance with vehicle operator regulations, industry standards, and safety procedures.
* Communication: Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, external transport providers, and haulage companies.
* Cost Efficiency: Analyze transport operations and recommend cost-saving solutions.
* Fleet Management: Oversee the maintenance of the company fleet, ensuring vehicles and drivers are compliant.
* Team Development: Mentor, coach, and train logistics staff to help them grow within their roles.
* Operational Excellence: Continuously improve systems, procedures, and workflows to maintain a high standard of service.
