Description of Job
The Diocese of Guildford is looking for a dynamic and spirited Worship Lead to join our new Youth Catalyst Project Team. The Worship Lead will lead, facilitate, and train youth leaders and young people in worship at Youth Catalyst Project events.
The Youth Catalyst Project is a bold programme which seeks to enhance youth ministry by working with and in schools and churches across the Diocese of Guildford to double the amount of young people in faith by 2030.
Key Responsibilities
1. Leading, training and developing young people in worship, musical ability, and other relevant skills.
2. Working as part of the Team to deliver safe, high-quality worship and training events that establish and deepen the faith of young people.
3. Supporting worship in schools alongside the rest of the Gathering and Social Media Team and the Pioneering School Chaplains.
4. Planning and promoting the delivery of mission weeks in schools and towns across the Diocese.
5. Together with the Gathering and Social Media Team, playing an active role in the design and delivery of digital discipleship and evangelism for young people across the Diocese.
Ideal Candidate
1. Experience in leading worship in different traditions.
2. Experience of teaching adults and teenagers in music and/or worship.
3. Ability to lead sung worship.
4. Broad awareness of trends in youth culture.
5. Good understanding of principles and practices of effective youth ministry.
6. Good understanding of safeguarding practices.
The successful candidate will need to hold a full UK driving licence and have their own vehicle as this position will require some travel around the diocese from time to time.
