The Role:-
We are looking for an experienced Private Client Associate who is looking for an exciting new opportunity to work within our fast growing team within one of our Cheshire offices.
You will be reporting directly to the Head of Department within the Private Client team the role is to develop and handle a full caseload of private client files. Responsible for the performance and effectiveness of any staff reporting, ensuring the delivery of personal targets and team targets. Provide excellent customer service and at all times comply with the firm’s procedures as well as meeting professional standards.
The right candidate will play a pivotal role in providing expert legal services across a broad range of private client matters. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and ambitious individual to further their career in a supportive and progressive environment.
Key Accountabilities:-
Provide expert legal advice on a range of private client matters, including wills, trusts, estate planning and probate.
Draft and review legal documents such as wills, trusts, and power of attorney
Manage the administration of estates, including obtaining grants of probate and letters of administration.
Handle complex cases involving high-value estates and cross-border issues.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing a high level of client care.
Stay up to date with changes in relevant laws and regulations.
Participate in business development activities to attract new clients and grow the firm’s private client practice.
Ensure the delivery of excellent customer service to all clients including good communication, timely response to correspondence and proactive management of client work.
Ensure personal and team compliance with professional conduct rules and internal policies and procedures.
Manage financial aspects of client work effectively and work within parameters communicated in relation to write offs.
To ensure that personal development is sustained.
To ensure achievement of financial billing targets for client work are achieved for your team.
To ensure achievement of billing and gross profit targets for your team.
Meet targets for recovery of cash from clients for your team.
Ensure personal and team management of files, in a manner at all times consistent with any SLAs agreed with referrers of work
Deliver effective supervision to any staff reporting in to you and support the Head of Department with providing wider department supervision as appropriate
Complete file reviews, on schedule, for any fee earners requested.
Ensure that new matter opening targets are met for your team
Participate regularly in business development activities to stimulate growth in caseload.
Ensure personal and team conversion of enquiries into new business. Achieving conversion targets and ensuring all required data is captured and recorded in line with the department’s enquiry handling policies and processes.
Be proactive in assisting the firm sell more services to existing clients, either directly or through cross selling.
To ensure you and your team are proficient in the effective use of the practice and case management system and any other technologies implemented to deliver personal, departmental and firm wide objectives.
Ensure the integrity of data for contacts, clients and matters which your team work on.
What we are looking for:-
Qualified Solicitor with a current practising certificate in England and Wales.
3 years plus PQE within Private Client law
Strong technical knowledge.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to manage a varied caseload effectively and efficiently.
Contributes to business development activities, including networking and attending sector events.
Experience in building and maintaining client relationships.
Have experience of supervising team members.
