We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Computer Science Tutor to support a Year 8 student with high SEN (Special Educational Needs) for 3 hours per week within the student's home. The student requires tailored, engaging lessons to help them understand and enjoy Computer Science in a way that suits their unique learning style.
Responsibilities:
1. Plan and deliver individualized Computer Science lessons aligned with the student's learning needs and school curriculum.
2. Use multi-sensory and interactive teaching methods to enhance understanding and engagement.
3. Provide patient, supportive, and structured learning experiences, adapting approaches to suit SEN requirements.
4. Build the student's confidence and interest in Computer Science.
5. Liaise with parents/carers and, where appropriate, school staff to track progress and adjust teaching strategies.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Experience working with SEN students, particularly those with high learning needs.
2. Strong knowledge of Computer Science.
3. Ability to use creative and adaptive teaching methods to meet individual learning styles.
4. Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
5. A relevant teaching qualification or significant tutoring experience is desirable.
6. DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
