The post will give the Clinical Fellow a wide breadth of experience to help with their application for a national training number. This can be tailored and in addition to clinical experience may include active participation in audit, quality improvement projects, teaching, delivering national presentations and clinical research, includingopportunities for contributing to publications. The hours are standard working hours of 9-5pm Monday to Friday with an additional hour on Monday from 8-9am to help set up the departmental MDT meeting. Due to clinic and MDT commitments occasional days may require an 8am start time. The role may include attending clinics in Hull occasionally (1-4 times per month). These working days may be longer due to travel. The post duties may include a combination of the following. The post holder may not be required to carry out all the duties listed. This will depend upon the requirements of the service. 1. Support consultant clinical activity. 2. Hold outpatient, telephone and video clinics. 3. Participate in the urgent ward referral rota. 4. Write and sign-off clinic letters promptly. 5. Attend all stipulated departmental meetings 6. Support multidisciplinary team meetings 7. Undertake audit or quality improvement projects 8. Teach medical students and other medical personnel as directed. 9. Attend specialist clinics, departmental teaching activities including genomics education and other relevant clinical meetings. 10. Attend induction and comply with all local policies including dress code, annual and study leave. 11. Maintain continued professional development. Supervision Day to day supervision and support will be provided by the appropriate member of consultant, medical or specialist nursing staff as appropriate. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED The post is suitable for a candidate who has achieved or is working towards postgraduate professional exams, such as Membership of Royal College of Physicians, Royal College of Paediatrics & Child Health, General Practice, Obstetrics & Gynaecology or equivalent (MRCP, MRCPch, MRCGP or MRCOG) and can demonstrate considerable previous clinical experience and skills.
