We are a rural, South-West Shropshire Medical Practice set in the Stretton hills with 7,200 patients.
We have a friendly, close-knit team who work hard to provide the best service to our patients.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a Practice Nurse or Senior HCA to undertake clinic room duties including dressings, adult imms, CVD reviews, bloods, BP/ECGs, ear checks, cancer care reviews, and health checks.
About us
The practice has 6 GP partners and 1 salaried GP. We are a training practice for both registrars and year 4 medical students.
Our nursing team is comprised of 4 nurses and 3 HCA/Phlebotomists.
Primary care experience is desirable but not essential as appropriate training will be given to the right candidate.
We have a very strong team, supported well by the management team to enable recruiting and retaining the right people for the job.
Job responsibilities
1. Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care as directed by lead nurse and GPs.
2. Provide basic and complex wound care to patients.
3. Perform the removal of sutures/clips/staples.
4. Perform urinalysis.
5. Perform ear syringing.
6. Perform ECGs.
7. Venepuncture and the preparation of pathology samples.
8. Conduct blood pressure measurements.
9. Chaperone and assist patients where appropriate who are being examined by another clinician.
10. Assist GPs with minor surgery and female health clinics if required.
