Mobile Library Driver/Customer Assistant We have an exciting opportunity for dedicated individuals with strong customer service skills to join our Mobile Library team. We are looking for a Mobile Library Driver/Customer Engagement Assistant based in Derby, traveling throughout the Midlands. This position involves driving a mobile library vehicle and providing excellent customer service at various events, such as school book fairs, country shows, and festivals. Successful candidates will be offered a full-time role, working three 12-hour shifts per week. Requirements: A full, clean UK driving license obtained before January 1997, or a clean C2 category license if obtained after January 1997. Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (training available subject to T&Cs and minimum employment period). A current valid driving license to operate a vehicle up to 7.5 tones. This role requires an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service. Responsibilities: Conducting regular maintenance checks to ensure the vehicle is in good condition. Maintaining the security and cleanliness of the vehicle. Interacting with customers in a friendly and helpful manner. Promoting the service and stock to individuals and communities. Repeatedly lifting books and other heavy items for shelving and packing. Keeping stock organized and ensuring everything is tidy and well-presented. Delivering services in compliance with equality policies, procedures, and legislation. Adhering to Health & Safety procedures and maintaining the security of facilities and the health & safety of yourself, colleagues, and the public. Demonstrating good organizational and planning skills.
