About the Role
A vacancy has opened for a Skilled Sheet Details Fitter within a busy aerospace production team. This hands-on role is ideal for someone with strong experience in shaping and forming sheet metal components to exacting specifications. You'll be working with precision tools and machines to deliver high-quality aerospace parts that meet strict engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities
Manufacture components using manual and machine-aided sheet metal forming techniques.
Interpret and work from engineering drawings, specifications, and procedures.
Operate equipment including stretch forming machines, rolling machines, fluid presses, and CNC/forming presses.
Approve your own work using AO stamps in line with quality requirements.
Maintain clean and safe workstations in accordance with workplace standards.
Comply with all EHS, COSHH, and compliance requirements.
Accurately complete route cards for traceability and job costing.
Collaborate effectively with team members and support training and development of others when needed.
What We're Looking For
Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 / Apprenticeship (or equivalent) in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering.
Experience: Previous hands-on experience in sheet metal fabrication, ideally in aerospace.
Skills:
Excellent manual dexterity and close attention to detail
Strong understanding of technical drawings and engineering specifications
Basic IT literacy and sound communication skills
Good numeracy and literacy
Familiarity with imperial and metric systems
Positive, solutions-focused attitude
Capable of working independently and in collaboration with others
Additional Information
IR35 Status: Outside IR35 (SDS determination will be provided)
Security Clearance: BPSS required and must be maintained
Right to Work: Sponsorship considered under current UK immigration rules
