Senior Electronics Design Engineer – analogue / PSU Paignton, Devon £70-80k share options benefits This is an exciting and new opportunity for an experienced electronics design engineer to join a start-up involved with the research, development and design of optics / photonic technologies. Their technologies radically improve network speed and energy efficiency. This electronics design engineer role involves designing and developing custom low noise, small footprint step-up power converters for the company’s cutting-edge communication products. Success in this position means delivering robust, high-performance hardware designs that meet stringent signal integrity and power efficiency requirements. Experience with the design of low noise, small footprint power electronic devices (the product requires several internal power converters (±6V) driven by one external power supply (3.3V) with varying currents up to 4-5A.) Full analogue / power electronics design capability (design, simulation, board design and bring up, supplier engagement, assembly, integration & test) Good schematic capture and ideally PCB layout skills (tools such as OrCAD, Altium, etc) Experience of developing DAC/ADC peripherals utilising QSPI, DSPI, and SPI interfaces would be great. Excellent communication, organisation and motivational skills The ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving, start-up organisation Knowledge of highspeed network interface and optical transceiver systems would be preferable You will need a strong analogue / power electronics product development background and experience with highspeed network interface or optical transceiver products would be excellent. Electronics design engineer candidates may have worked in other arenas involving highspeed network technologies (e.g. network, and data centre hardware, telecoms systems, storage / servers / HPC, consumer electronics or specialist test and measurement products). Skills / Experience required: Senior electronics design engineer – analogue / power A degree or masters in a relevant subject area (e.g. electronics engineering) Experience with the design of low noise, small footprint power electronic devices (the product requires several internal power converters (±6V) driven by one external power supply (3.3V) with varying currents up to 4-5A.)
