Working as part of a teamyou will provide support for the class teacher and assist with the wholeplanning cycle and the management/preparation of resources.

What the school offers its staff
Part of the Vale Federation of Schools, Stocklake Park Secondary School is a special school which caters for students who have moderate to severe learning difficulties.
There are currently 105 students at the main site. The school follows a primary model and is designed to meet individual educational needs and develop social and personal skills. The curriculum is organised to give students the opportunity to experience and explore different subjects. We provide high quality education and care and students have access to a range of therapies, multi-agency professionals and a team of therapists who support students' needs. We offer an excellent training package for staff together with a fantastic opportunity to become part of an innovative and forward thinking team who are providing a therapeutic and unique learning environment for its pupils. All students have access to swimming at our primary site, a rebound centre and purpose built outdoor spaces including a MUGA (multi use games area) and playground equipment. We are close to bus and train links and on-site parking is available for staff.
Further details about the role
As an Assistant Teacher the successful candidate will workwith the class teacher in lesson planning, evaluating and adjusting lesson/workplans as appropriate. You will assist with the development and implementationof individual education and personal care plans, attending to personal hygieneneeds and administering medicines. You will be required to lead whole classesduring the teacher's non-contact time and also during the short-term absence ofthe teacher. Comprehensive training is provided as appropriate to the role witha brand new continued professional development programme allowing every staffmember opportunities to develop and flourish.
Ideal candidates for this role will have experience ofworking with young people who have a range of special educational and complexneeds either in a special school or similar setting, or maybe through adifferent job role. You will be able to liaise with other professionals inorder to carry out recommendations required and also work on your owninitiative. A good working knowledge of ICT to be able to effectively supportlearning and a commitment to training is expected. Resilience, common sense anda commitment to working as part of a team are also key attributes.
