The Nith District Salmon Fishery Board requires an experienced administrative assistant to work in their office based at Auldgirth, Dumfries. Nith District Salmon Fishery Board is a statutory organisation involved in the protection, enhancement and conservation of stocks of salmon and sea trout in the River Nith and the general protection and enhancement of the fishery itself. The ideal candidate for this position will be self-motivated and have good interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
* Managing company correspondence, including phone calls, emails, letters and packages
* Handling bookkeeping, payroll, budgeting and billing cycles for the business
* Organising meetings, scheduling appointments and overseeing company events
* Taking and preparing minutes at meetings
* Performing data entry roles, including updating records and databases for personnel, financial and legal information
* Organising and cleaning of the office
* Managing inventory of office supplies, including stationery and multimedia equipment to ensure smooth office operations
* Ensuring computer systems and equipment are functioning correctly
* Creating travel itineraries for employees and company events
* Drafting and producing publicity material for website and social media
Essential Skills
* Proven experience in an administrative role or similar position
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
* Proficient in data entry with attention to detail
* Excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal skills
* Proven bookkeeping skills using Sage and ability to compile quarterly reports
* Competent in using computerised systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft 365
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
* Full driving license and car to commute to work
