Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities The team delivers a small but comprehensive 7 day service which supports patients directly and care groups more broadly with safe management of alcohol dependent patients. The team is part of the Virtual Enhanced Care Group (VECG), which brings together several trust wide UHS and externally contracted services to support the care and treatment for patients of UHS. These include the Alcohol Care Team, Learning disability and Autism Team, Dementia and Delirium Team and Enhanced Care Mental health Team. There are three other Band 7 leadership posts, and they work closely together, you would become part of that support network. The alcohol care team currently operate 7 days a week 0800-1800 Monday to Friday and 0900-1700 Weekends and Bank holidays. The Team Supports Patients Trust Wide And Consists Of 0.5 WTE Clinical Lead consultant psychiatrist 4.6 WTE B6 Alcohol Nurses, consisting of 5 current staff, staff flexible working arrangements have recently created a 1.0 WTE vacancy. 0.9 WTE B3 Administrator 1.0 WTE B7 Alcohol Nurse Specialist Team Lead (vacant post). Leadership skills and specialist knowledge of alcohol care in the acute hospital setting are important in the role. What You’ll Do Practice at an advanced level to provide in-depth knowledge on the care pathway and complex needs of the patient group to deliver personalised care. Be involved in planning and implementing standards of care, practice guidelines and where appropriate Integrated care pathways, and to continually evaluate the quality of patient care. Take an active lead in evaluation of the service and patient care, including patient satisfaction, selecting, and applying a range of valid reliable methods that are appropriate to needs and context. Assess the training and development needs of colleagues and use appropriate strategies to share specialist knowledge and influence the practice of others.
