Littledown Surgery are currently seeking a GP to join our supportive and friendly team on a fixed term basis, covering 5 sessions per week maternity leave.
Main duties of the job
5 sessions per week - with a mix of telephone and face-to-face consultations:
* Monday and Wednesday - all day
* Thursday - AM
The successful candidate will provide comprehensive medical care to our patients, including diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up. You will work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients. Daily responsibilities include:
* Conducting patient consultations and examinations.
* Diagnosing and treating a wide range of medical conditions.
* Prescribing medication and managing repeat prescriptions.
* Referring patients to specialist services when necessary.
* Providing preventive care and health education.
* Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records.
* Participating in clinical meetings.

Littledown Surgery is a small, friendly GP practice situated on the northern edge of Bournemouth. We are a compassionate practice with a family feel, and patient care is at the heart of everything we do.
We are part of the Bournemouth East Collaborative Network and work closely with an established team of healthcare professionals such as GPs, Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, First Contact Physios, Mental Health Practitioners, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Practice Nurses, and Health Care Assistants.
Job responsibilities
1. To see patients in accordance with the normal pattern of working at Littledown Surgery. To undertake home visits, face-to-face and telephone consultations, as well as a share of duty doctor days.
2. To record consultations and patient contacts in a timely and accurate manner on the clinical system - SystmOne.
3. To regularly monitor results received electronically and act upon them as appropriate.
4. To read incoming mail relating to patients and act upon this in an appropriate and timely manner.
5. To initiate referral letters in a timely and appropriate manner.
6. To deal with patient notes, messages, and administrative matters as required.
7. To undertake reports, Cremation forms, and other administrative duties, as required.
8. To process prescriptions daily, as required.
9. To liaise with members of the Practice team to ensure patient care and satisfactory administration of the Practice.
10. To undertake tasks related to QOF, and liaise as necessary with the Practice team in order to fulfil these tasks.
11. To attend Practice, Clinical, In-House training, and administrative meetings wherever possible.
12. To undertake any reasonable task as necessary to the efficiency of running the Practice.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Already qualified as a General Practitioner Registered GP with the GMC.
* Must possess the right to work in the UK and be on the NHS Performers List.
* Experience of working in Primary Care.
* Ability to provide quality care.
* Good interpersonal and communication skills.
* Basic IT skills.
* Knowledge of SystmOne clinical system.
