Hospital Engineer Hospital Engineer | Brentwood | Full Time | Permanent | 37.5 hours | From £30,000 per annum benefits Spire Hartswood Hospital are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Hospital Engineer to join our team. To provide the highest standards of buildings facilities provision to the hospital, and to provide a highly efficient Engineering service in a safe and cost-effective manner. Responsibilities Be part of the maintenance team ensuring prompt response to all equipment and service breakdowns. Provide planned and reactive engineering service to all parts of the hospital, building, its facilities and equipment. Be a point of contact for external contractors whilst on site in line with Spire policies. To undertake maintenance/testing of plant/equipment, ensuring compliance with current Health Technical Memorandum (HTM) recommendations. Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) as well as reactive maintenance and repair, keeping all necessary records. These will include but are not limited to: HVAC, LTHW and boiler plant Electrical Distribution systems, including LV and emergency backup systems Medical equipment Devices, including sterilizer and washer plant Emergency alarms and call systems Door entry and security systems Water service and drainage systems To be part of an out of hours emergency on call team. Provide in house day to day DIY/Maintenance including carpentry, plumbing and general repairs and decoration. Ensure the maintenance of good working relationships, communication and teamwork in the hospital and department Ensure all duties are undertaken safely and conscientiously in a timely manner Assist with the upkeep of statutory compliance demands within the Engineering department Who we're looking for Ideally someone who has served a recognised apprenticeship in electrical/mechanical /HVAC engineering with city and guilds qualification, but this is not essential as hands on experience is required. Multi-skilled experience in Carpentry/Plumbing/Mechanical/Electrical services. Experience in frontline customer service.
