Working as part of our building services teams, potentially working in Healthcare, Defence, Education and commercial sectors, we are now looking for an enthusiastic Trainee Estimator to join our 2025 development programme and help us shape the future.
What you'll do:
* Assist in the preparation of cost plans
* Undertake detailed takeoff from the tender drawings
* Prepare and issue enquiry documentation to the supply chain
* Assist in the analysis and levelling of received quotations
* Work with the project team to maximise all opportunities and minimise all risks to achieve the best possible project cost.
* Aid and assist the senior project estimator/s (both Mechanical and Electrical) to develop the information into a competitive cost estimate.
* Assist the bidding team with any post tender negotiations as required.
* Assist the Project Estimator with the production of the Embodied Carbon Estimate (using our in-house system)
What you'll bring to the role:
* Level 3 qualification such as A level, BTEC National Diploma or equivalent level 3 qualification
* 5 GSCEs including Maths and English grade 4 or above for successful enrolment on the apprenticeship
* Enjoy working with other people
* Comfortable with various computer software packages, numerical data and learning to understand legal contracts
* Enthusiasm to learn and proactiveness in your approach to work
* Keen to bring new ideas to help us innovate and work better

What qualification will you be studying towards?
Initially, you will be studying a level 4 qualification in Quantity Surveying at a nominated local college or University, with the plan to progress to a level 6 qualification afterwards.
This role is based: A hybrid role with your week split across our offices in Moorgate, London and Leavesden, Watford. The majority of your time will be spent at our Moorgate, London office.
