ROLE PURPOSE
This permanent position is responsible for the data governance, implementation, and management of systems and data within Portfolio Analytics & Performance ("PA&P"), focusing on Equity, Fixed Income, and Multi-Assets. The Data Manager - Portfolio Analytics & Systems will oversee portfolio analytics & index data due diligence, manage service level agreements (SLAs) with systems' users, and ensure the effective implementation and maintenance of key systems (e.g. Seismic, Vermillion, Revolution/Confluence, and Bloomberg PORT).
This role balances production support and project responsibilities and will work closely with various departments, including Client Service, Performance, Data Architecture, Product, Marketing, Legal & Compliance, and IT.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Due Diligence/Governance:
1. Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly portfolio analytics & index data due diligence and map securities to classifications/groupings within Bloomberg PORT/CDE/UNCL, as well as agree and manage SLAs with users of such systems across the organisation.
2. Ensure portfolio analytics & index data quality and integrity across all data sources and systems.
3. Maintain a "Data Methodology - Portfolio Analytics" document, which summarises methodologies used to compute portfolio analytics & index data.
Data Implementation:
1. Oversee the implementation of data solutions via systems (e.g. Seismic, Vermillion, Revolution/Confluence, and Bloomberg PORT).
2. Collaborate with stakeholders both in the Client Group and Front Office to ensure reporting data solutions meet business requirements in conjunction with the Data Architecture team.
Systems Implementation:
1. Lead the implementation of systems (e.g. Vermillion, Revolution/Confluence, Seismic, and Bloomberg PORT), which will seek to promote efficient, fit-for-purpose internal/external reporting activity within Front Office and Client Group.
2. Develop and manage detailed project plans for data & system implementations, ensuring timely and successful deployment.
3. Act as an internal subject matter expert for Vermillion, training the Client Group to enable the broadest possible adoption of the system.
Data Procurement/Management:
1. Lead the portfolio analytics & index data procurement process.
2. Review, negotiate, and maintain portfolio analytics & index data contracts and agreements as per line manager's guidance.
3. Contribute to and update the Impax Data Providers Matrix to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.
Data Issue Resolution:
1. Promptly resolve data issues in systems (e.g. Vermillion, Revolution/Confluence, Seismic, and Bloomberg PORT).
2. Lead weekly/monthly calls with systems/data providers to track and address potential data issues, ensuring teams impacted by those issues are kept up to date.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE
1. Proven experience in portfolio analytics & index market data, data governance, data management, and systems implementation within the Asset Management industry.
2. Strong understanding of Equity, Fixed Income, and Multi-Assets products.
3. Experience in using AI prompts to optimise processes and/or generate coding scripts.
4. Experience with data and reporting tools.
5. Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
7. Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across various departments and levels of the organisation.
8. Proven ability to work independently and with all levels of leadership.
9. Knowledge of data contract negotiations and management.
