The Team
The Transformation department at Clyde & Co is on an exciting journey to realise the firm's appetite for greater coordination and strategic focus across our global portfolio of projects and programmes. The department includes Project Delivery and Business Analysis teams, both of which support projects and programmes led by the Transformation department, as well as the Change Management Office (CMO) and Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO), both of which provide services firm-wide. The Senior Portfolio Analyst role sits within the EPMO.
The EPMO is in the process of implementing a firm-wide framework of project and portfolio strategy, governance and MI, in order to enable senior management to make informed decisions regarding project investment and execution. The EPMO will also provide the standards, processes, tooling, and capability framework to enable projects and programmes to be delivered successfully, efficiently, transparently and consistently across the firm.
Key Responsibilities
The Senior Portfolio Analyst is a key enabler of the development, continuous improvement, and operational provision of the following EPMO services:
Portfolio Governance
* Enterprise project portfolio governance framework
* Business-case-driven project intake into the prioritised active portfolio
* Benefits tracking and realisation assurance
* Firm-wide annual project and programme investment roadmap planning
Portfolio Management
* Portfolio-wide aggregation and insights of project and programme financial information
* Resourcing supply, demand, and contention, including across departmental portfolios
* Portfolio-wide aggregation of change impact to end-user groups across multiple initiatives
* Portfolio-level oversight of project and programme dependencies
* Identification of and remediation recommendations for portfolio-level thematic risks and issues
* Continuous strengthening of project- and programme-level governance models, and adherence assurance
Tools and Reporting
* Liaising with the vendor of the enterprise PPM tool to ensure design requirements are understood, and that configuration, deployment, maintenance, training and support requirements are met
* Transition from current / tactical PPM tools to using the strategic PPM toolset, driving enrolment and positive adoption of the strategic PPM toolset across all stakeholders and user groups
* Integration between the strategic PPM tool and other applications used in project and portfolio management
* Identification and exploitation of automation and artificial intelligence opportunities for the PPM tooling environment
* Business-facing and PPM community-facing intranet presence for EPMO content sharing
* Collation of project status report content into a consumable portfolio-level MI dashboards and reports for audience groups at all levels
* Continuous quality improvements of project and programme report content for consistency and relevance to the target audience groups
Skills & Experience
PPM skills experience
* Experience of project and portfolio management methodologies and processes, including design and implementation in collaboration with a range of stakeholder groups
* Experience in the use of a range of Project Portfolio Management tools, including their design, configuration and implementation
* Experience in the production of project and portfolio performance reporting
* Experience of both predictive and agile project planning practices and techniques
* Experience of project financial and resource management practices and techniques
* Experience facilitating a range of project / programme meetings such as governance meetings, planning workshops, risk workshops and lessons learned reviews
* Familiarity with the processes and practices of business analysis and change management in a project context
Soft skills experience
* Presents complex ideas in simple terms, succinctly articulating risks and choices to enable effective decision-making
* As a coach / trainer, is effective in transferring knowledge and expertise to others
* Confidently builds a network of strong working relationships, and collaborates effectively with a wide range of team members and stakeholders across departments
* Strong self-starter with a proven ability to take the initiative to achieve defined goals
* Well-organised and methodical with excellent attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all communications and deliverables
* Strong analysis and problem-solving skills
* Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment, and to adapt quickly to unforeseen challenges
* A track record of successful delivery of similar services in a comparable environment
* Experience of working effectively in complex environments across geographies, cultures, functions and teams
* Legal industry experience is desirable
Qualifications and Certifications
* A Project Management or PMO certification from an internationally recognised body (e.g. P3O, PMI, PRINCE2, APM) is essential
