This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic school setting, where you will support students with a range of special educational needs, including autism, learning disabilities, and complex behavioural challenges. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of SEN teaching strategies, excellent communication skills, and the ability to inspire and motivate students. Key Responsibilities: Plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of students with SEN. Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and provide targeted support to students with autism, learning difficulties, and other complex needs. Work closely with the SENCO, teaching assistants, and other professionals to ensure students' academic and emotional needs are met. Promote inclusion and independence within the classroom and school environment, encouraging students to develop life skills and social interactions. Manage classroom behaviour using effective strategies and interventions to ensure a positive and productive learning environment. Regularly assess and monitor student progress, adapting teaching strategies as required to support their development. Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and other professionals to ensure a collaborative approach to each student’s education. Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential. Proven experience working with students with Special Educational Needs, particularly those with autism, learning disabilities, and complex behavioural needs. Strong understanding of SEN strategies, including the use of visual aids, PECS, Makaton, and other communication tools. Excellent behaviour management skills, with the ability to create a calm, structured classroom environment. A patient, empathetic, and positive approach to teaching.
