The primary purpose of this role is to take a lead on the development and delivery of on-going education, training and support within Nursing, Midwifery and AHP (NMAHP) Research capacity building, encompassing both Postgraduate and Undergraduate curricula outcomes and continuing professional development Support the agenda of the Executive Chief Nurse to sustain the Trusts reputation as a Centre for Excellence for high quality NMAHP Research Identify all opportunities for themselves and others where learning can take place, both formally and informally Support the Trust Lead (NMAHP Research) in the development of research related Training Needs Analysis and support Clinical Leads, ward and departmental sisters/charge nurses to ensure appropriate training is compliant with Trust standard Contribute to the delivery of the corporate agenda for up to 40% of the time Contribute to corporate training and education. May lead practice development initiatives Develop appropriate competency based clinical skills education and develop relevant competency assessment documents, for approval by the appropriate Trust Committee e.g. Clinical Role Development Group or Nursing and Midwifery Practice Development Group Support the Trust Governance and Patient Safety agenda through activeparticipation in the work of the Nursing and Midwifery Practice Development Group To maintain the delivery and quality of services provided within the care environment including the care delivered, setting of nursing standards and leadership of the team working clinically with staff where needed to help the acquisition of skills, knowledge and competence To provide a nursing lead as a member of the NMAHP Research teamo Provide adviceo Patient and Staff advocacy Influence change and development of practice, utilising the most recent evidence base Contribute to performance review of NMAHP Research related education programmes Abide by Trust policies when dealing with complaints, accidents and incidents Maintain discipline within the service, abiding by Trust Disciplinary Procedure Policies Participate and chair interviewing panels in the appointment of staff, and be aware of legislation and local personnel policies affecting the employment of staff Implementation of evaluation audits to measure the impact of educational programmes and analyse and disseminate the results To deliver a competency based induction, where appropriate, for new staff and students to the directorate Facilitate the provision of Clinical Supervision ensuring this is a support mechanism available to all staff and which is embedded in practice Identify areas of good practice and provide opportunities for staff to share this across the organisation If you are an ambitious individual, with significant post registration experience in your clinical area, sound experience and knowledge of clinical research, and aspirations to develop the NMAHP research capacity building agenda at the Trust, including opportunities to develop your own research, then this post may be for you.
