About the role
Our client is looking for a Director of Managed Detection & Response to lead and mature the operational security aspects of their evolving business. You will support their global network to detect, respond, remediate, and recover from cyber-attacks, working alongside the Threat and Vulnerability Management teams.

Shifts: Monday – Friday (37.5 hours per week)
The must haves:
* Experience in information systems, cyber security or a related discipline.
* Cyber security expertise is required.
* Experience in incident response or penetration testing with proven experience handling cyber threats.
* Leadership experience in a Managed Security Operations Centre or similar incident command organisation.
* Detailed understanding of the MITRE ATT&CK and D3fend Framework and the Cyber Kill Chain.
* Outstanding written and verbal communication skills and ability to present to senior management.
Key responsibilities
* Provide technical and business leadership, operating at the director level with senior stakeholders.
* Lead day-to-day operations of Proactive Analysis, Security Tooling, and CERT teams, including oversight of complex cyber security incidents and investigations.
* Manage the implementation of strategic planning in line with the overall company strategy and Security Roadmap.
* Drive a multi-year strategy for continuous process and technology improvement.
* Collaborate with retained markets, joint ventures, third parties, and business process owners to ensure consistency and effectiveness of Security Operations activities.
* Proactively identify security monitoring and process gaps and work with colleagues to expand visibility.
* Work with Security Engineering and Security Architecture teams to seek new and innovative approaches to prevent and identify cyber threats.

* A day rate, in-scope IR35, £900 per day (via a Hays approved umbrella company)
* This role provides a remote working access from the comforts of your own home and only going to our state-of-the-art office in Reading, three times per week. Travel will be required as part of this position.
