Job Purpose This role will be responsible for the efficient and safe scheduling/execution for the company's logistics and dispatch functions. Working alongside the Logistics Manager, it will be the responsibility of the role to ensure we operate with maximum operational efficiency whilst adhering to all company policies. Key Responsibilities Supervises the team, coordinates, prioritises and assigns workloads to each assigned team member. Manages the team, participating in recruitment, undertaking disciplinary action as required and conducting regular one-to-one meetings, providing feedback. Lead the Dispatch function ensuring all paperwork is processed in accordance with our quality systems. Lead the Logistic function ensuring all transport bookings meet customer deadlines, whilst aiming for maximum cost efficiencies. Coordinate with external transport providers, including drivers. Escalate risks, particularly where deadlines are likely to be missed, in a timely manner in order that they may be addressed, suggesting solutions where appropriate. Ensure effective communication is in place should there be any delays and delivery failures ahead of the issue reaching the customer. Manage incoming invoices, comparing them to expected costs and submitting for approval. Provide & update KPI reports, with suggestions for areas of improvement. Manage customer complaints, investigations providing feedback on issues. Cover "out of hours" call service for Logistic purposes, if required. Securing / locking the department at the end of the working day if required. Qualifications / Skills & Experience Essential Five years work experience within a warehouse/dispatch environment Two years supervisory experience PC Literate to include Microsoft Office Strong leadership and team management skills Desirable Two years experience of SAP Management qualification Good knowledge of UK geography and motorways if you are interested please apply and we will contact you.
