NIAB, a crop science organisation, are looking for this role based at their Park Farm location in Impington.
Temporary Field Trials Technicians to work in plant variety trials. The roles will involve sample collection, measuring plant characteristics in the field and via image analysis, and a range of other practical tasks. This is a great opportunity to gain experience in agricultural field crops/plot trials, while developing professional skills in team working, time management and practical problem solving. The work can be physically demanding and will entail spending substantial periods working outdoors, in all weather conditions. Fixed term from 3 June 2024 to 30 August 2024. Apply before 27 May 2024.
Cereal Pathologist to provide a practical senior scientific (specialist) support in the area of plant pathology, with the main focus on fungal rust and mildew diseases of cereal and legume crops, which is essential to delivery of the UK Cereal Pathogen Virulence Survey (UKCPVS) and their levy, commercial, and UKRI (UK Research and Innovation) pathology work. Helping deliver Recommended List (RL), Variety List (VL), and commercial field trials on all main UK cereal diseases and contribute to project reporting, publications, and knowledge transfer activities.
