The role
As Fire Safety Business partner, you will drive the strategic implementation of fire safety measures, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations while fostering a proactive safety culture. It aims to minimise fire-related risks, protect all airport users, and support operational resilience through expert guidance and collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders.
The role encompasses the safety, and welfare of all users of the airport, meeting of statutory responsibilities, protecting the companys interests and reducing the costs and consequences of fire related incidents.
In addition you will facilitate the effective management of Fire Safety and Risk by line management and third parties, through the timely provision of professional advice and training on statutory responsibilities, fire safety policy & procedures, and best practice.
Provide proactive leadership and expert advice on Fire safety to Airport Senior Managers including interpreting fire safety related law to ensure legal compliance. Specifically, the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety Order 2005.
Ensure compliance with all relevant fire safety legislative requirements.
Support the Fire Safety Manager at EMA in their interaction with MAG Group in the implementation on fire safety measures at divisional level.
Liaise with key stakeholders to identify managed solutions to operational impacts of the construction phase of projects.
Lead the business with ensuring the risk registers reflects key fire safety risks and ensure key fire safety risks are identified and assessed appropriately.
Profile description:
Certificate Fire Safety Management related qualification or equivalent.
Membership of a professional body such as the Institute of Fire Engineers (IFE) or equivalent.
Extensive knowledge of:
- Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, BS 9999, Building Regulations 2010 as applicable to fire safety,
- Practical knowledge of British Standards for fire safety systems and fire engineering design principles.
- Practical knowledge and application of fire risk assessments to PAS 79.
