People Solutions is currently recruiting for two Maintenance Technicians to join our well-established client based in Tamworth, Staffordshire, on a full-time permanent basis.

Non-peak: 12:00 to 22:00 Monday to Friday / 12:00 to 21:30 Saturday - Sunday
Peak: 12-hour shifts as per peak rota

Role Overview
This role involves maintaining equipment, troubleshooting issues, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance site performance. The work is approximately 70% practical and 30% administrative, working closely with the HSE & Facilities Manager and the wider team to ensure efficient and safe site operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Equipment Maintenance & Repairs: Perform routine maintenance, fault finding, and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and automated systems, ensuring compliance with legislation and safety standards.
2. Preventative Maintenance: Plan, schedule, and perform preventative maintenance to reduce downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
3. Automated Systems Oversight: Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot automated conveyance systems, SCADA, and industrial control systems for optimal efficiency.
4. Compliance & Safety: Conduct safety inspections, maintain compliance records, and ensure all work adheres to HSE standards.
5. Spares & Inventory Management: Track spare parts usage and ensure availability of critical components.
6. Contractor & Project Coordination: Liaise with external contractors, supervise work, and manage permits and risk assessments.
7. Process Improvement & Cost Control: Implement cost-saving initiatives and support LEAN manufacturing principles.
8. Material Flow & Uptime: Collaborate with operational managers to ensure seamless material flow and maximize productivity.
9. Flexibility: Willingness to work outside standard hours during peak periods or urgent situations.
10. Experience & Skills: Mechanical and electrical fault-finding, knowledge of automated systems, proactive problem-solving, and understanding of safety regulations. IOSH qualification is preferred or willingness to obtain it.
11. Additional Qualities: Good communication, teamwork skills, and experience in project management or maintenance improvements are advantageous. Experience in FMCG, Logistics, or Distribution sectors is desirable.
