Job Title: Policy Communications Manager, EMEA
Location: Kings Cross, London (3 days per week)
Remuneration: £42.31 per hour
Contract Details: Temporary, 12 months
Our client, a leading player in the tech policy industry, is seeking a skilled Policy Communications Manager to join their team. As part of their EMEA Policy Comms team, you will oversee a diverse range of corporate and policy communication issues across the region. This includes working on critical areas such as content safety and cybersecurity.
Responsibilities:
* Manage inbound press enquiries and build relationships with press and external stakeholders
* Mitigate communication risks from reactive enquiries and seize proactive opportunities
* Produce high-quality written content for policy communications (statements, newsroom posts, social media posts, etc.)
* Translate complex policy concepts into accessible language across multiple channels
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align communication strategies with external moments
* Develop data-driven, measurable, and social-first communication plans on relevant policy comms topics
* Advise internal stakeholders on a wide range of communications matters, including media engagement strategies and crisis management
Minimum qualifications:
* Experience in corporate/policy communications for consumer-facing brands or relevant government communications departments
* Familiarity with managing high-profile global issues and implementing communication campaigns (both reactive and proactive)
* Ability to distil complex legal and policy issues into concise written and verbal communications for senior leaders
* Proficiency in managing cross-functional stakeholder relations and working collaboratively across teams
* Strong ability to produce concise and compelling content
* Excellent judgement, negotiation skills, and adaptability in fast-paced environments
* Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail
* Knowledge of the political and media environment in Brussels and across major European countries is advantageous
