We have an opportunity for a Clinical Services Manager to join their team of staff in theNursingdepartment.
This is a full time role for hours a week. The role holder will be required tocover a flexible shift pattern.
Main duties of the job
1. To strategically plan the clinical services, responsible for day to day organisation and management of clinical departments. Providing clear direction and leadership to all clinical staff, whilst supporting the initiatives of the hospital. Taking responsibility to lead the department under the direction of the Director of Clinical Services.
2. Responsible for the deployment, supervision and teaching of staff within the clinical area supporting the hospital management team in providing clinical leadership. The role is responsible for development, motivation and performance of all clinical staff, ensuring the achievement of CQC Standards as required for nursing services in an acute care hospital accepting planned and emergency surgical and medical admissions.
3. Maintenance of professional, cost-effective department service including financial management and business planning.
4. To work clinical as required, with a minimum of one clinical shift per week.

Responsibilities:
Lead the team to deliver care that helps improve the health of the individual and wider community.

Providing leadership and management to clinical teams, ensuring efficient service is maintained at all times.

To manage the delivery of clinical care as lead on Clinical safety.
Provide a high standard of individualised essential patient care to ensure an efficient and courteous service is provided for the patients.
To maintain written records and legal documents to required levels and accepted practice.
To participate in a programme of quality assurance as directed by Director of Clinical Services.
To ensure Health and Safety Policies and Practices are understood and followed by the clinical team.
To ensure staff are conversant with Fire and Health and Safety Policies.
To work professionally within the framework provided by the NMC Scope of Professional Practice.
Act as a first line operational manager, taking responsibility for supervising the hospital out of hours.
To assist in the maintenance of the clinical duty rota.
Participate with the RMO in the provision of a restricted Pharmacy service out of hours.
Deploy staff and resources in accordance with Circle Health Group policies.
Provide informal staff progress reports.
Assist in the management of the department budgets under direction of Director of Clinical Services.
Actively participate in clinical teaching in the ward area, where necessary.
To ensure the environment is conducive to continuing education and training programmes.
Participate in the interview, selection, recruitment and induction of departmental staff.
Keep up-to-date with clinical and professional developments in accordance with NMC code of practice requirements
Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
11. Evidence of relevant professional development, both clinically, managerially, preferably evidenced by certification RN with valid NMC Registration.
12. Registered Nurse Level 1 / Diploma / BSc in Nursing Studies.
13. Robust understanding of Clinical Governance requirements for the area.
14. Up-to-date knowledge in area of practice.
15. Awareness of NMC Code of Accountability.
16. Recruitment and selection skills.
