Role Description
Your primary goal is to drive market awareness, sales pipeline, and business development activities for Advisory propositions within your chosen area of expertise Strategy and Transformation (S&T). Your focus is on achieving agreed revenue targets aligned with market, sector, and client priorities. You will take a senior role in project delivery for Advisory engagements, ensuring successful outcomes and client satisfaction. Additionally, you will play a vital role in influencing and developing the Arcadis business, as well as the Advisory Communities of Practice, Service Capabilities, and Value Propositions.
In this role, you will contribute to the creation of strategies, identify opportunities to scale leading practices, and support a globally connected team. Collaborating with our four Global Business Areas (Mobility, Places, Resilience, and Intelligence), you will leverage their capabilities as needed to support the UK Advisory team and promote the integration of Arcadis' technical services. You will actively support the UK Advisory go-to-market strategy, driving profitable growth while meeting the increasing demand for Advisory services. As a key member of the UK Strategy and Transformation management team, you will contribute to the overall success of the practice.
This specific role is to spearhead our market facing activity into clients across our GBAs to take existing services and where necessary develop new services for clients. We have a existing capabilities in Strategy and Transformation, which we are converting into market ready solutions and this role would be required to strengthen these as well as build market presence to secure opportunities and revenue. We are looking for a lead to support taking our capabilities and solutions to more of our clients with a view to securing intial revenues of c1m in year 1 growing to > 3m by end of year 3. It should be noted that Arcadis have routes to market for major clients in the UK.
The Director's role is to:
1. Spearhead the development and promotion of integrated and innovative propositions that address client and market needs, while strengthening the Advisory brand in the market.
2. Drive exceptional client outcomes and commercial results through delivering excellent services across multiple client engagements.
3. Foster trusted advisor relationships with clients' Executive, Senior Management, and subject matter experts (SMEs), understanding their needs, and providing tailored solutions through proactive business development and project delivery approaches.
4. Drive thought leadership within the business and with clients, establishing themselves as a knowledgeable authority in their field, both within and outside Arcadis.
5. Exhibit leadership values and behaviours that foster diversity and inclusion, well-being, and a positive culture within the Advisory team and beyond.

Role accountabilities:
1. Manage the delivery of large projects, ensuring client satisfaction, effective project management, and fostering communication and collaboration among Arcadis colleagues.
2. Develop trusted relationships with client team members at the Executive and Senior Management levels, leveraging these relationships to generate new business opportunities and propose innovative solutions that meet client and market needs.
3. Contribute to the leadership of the UK Strategy and Transformation practice by assisting in setting objectives, managing performance, and ensuring the team possesses the necessary insights, knowledge, skills, and resources to achieve business plan objectives and professional development goals.
4. Spearhead the establishment of key performance targets and financial budgets for the team, optimizing business performance in alignment with set objectives.
5. Lead client relationships, monitoring performance, and taking appropriate action to meet or exceed client expectations while aligning with Arcadis' commercial objectives.
6. Lead teams to shape and win bids for regional projects, ensuring profitability and alignment with client needs.
7. Identify opportunities for innovation and the development of unique solutions and value propositions within their area of expertise.
8. Provide inspiring and motivational leadership to teams, consistently embodying Arcadis Leadership principles.
9. Drive the development of staff competence and skills, identifying regional and global growth and development needs within the solution domain.
10. Support identification and prioritisation of Advisory-led sponsorships, organisational partnerships, events, and other external relationship-building.
11. Support development and execution of global and regional marketing efforts to increase visibility, differentiation, and reputation for Strategy and Transformation capability.
12. Support global and regional Advisory leadership to evolve go-to-market strategy for Strategy and Transformation.
Qualifications & Experience:
The candidate will be recognised by clients and the market as an expert within their chosen areas of speciality e.g. Change Management, Leadership Development and Learning, Operating Model, Workplace Transformation, Benefits Management, People Centric Change (including culture and behaviours).
They will be an experienced management consultant with a focus on their chosen area of Advisory expertise. They should have strong business development and sales conversion skills and should be able to teach these to others to build the practice. The candidate should have direction and people management skills, ability to collaborate across geographies and experience in developing and managing client-facing consulting delivery approaches.
For this role, the candidate will have experience managing business relationships at Senior and Executive levels within client organisations and have demonstrated ability to directly influence client behaviours and conclusions and deals effectively with high risk, high value executive client situations.
