Why This Role Matters The Events Lead plays a crucial role in the success of Christie’s client engagement strategy, delivering a diverse range of high-profile events that reflect the company’s values and uphold the brand’s reputation for excellence. This position works alongside the Head of Events and the wider Special Events team to ensure seamless planning, execution, and post-event reporting for various corporate, private, and charity events across the UK and Europe. How You'll Make an Impact Event Planning & Delivery Oversee planning and execution of Christie’s sale and non-sale events, charity events, and corporate hospitality across the UK and EMEA (where needed) Collaborate with internal departments to set objectives, define event types, and establish timelines Partner with Marketing to create invitations and other promotional materials Manage event budgets, raise purchase orders, onboard suppliers, and process invoices Coordinate RSVPs to maintain accurate guest lists and ensure a smooth client experience Organize events at offsite locations in the UK and Europe Event Scheduling & Coordination Attend scheduling meetings with Client Strategy and Operations teams to ensure up-to-date event calendars Contribute to, and when necessary, circulate monthly UK and EMEA event calendars and communications Manage logistical coordination and ensure clear communication with all stakeholders (Hosts, Security, Facilities, etc.) to align on event details Oversee the deployment of additional resources and ensure all event teams understand objectives and guest profiles Supplier & Sponsorship Management Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers (e.g., caterers, photographers, musicians, AV contractors) and stay updated on their offerings Ensure all event-related contracts and sponsorships are reviewed, negotiated, and finalized in collaboration with Strategic Partnerships Monitor supplier performance to ensure quality delivery Feedback, Reporting & Follow-up Manage post-event follow-up, collect feedback, and analyse event performance against KPIs and ROI Produce reports that assess event impact and client satisfaction Special Events Department Support Assist with office administration, including managing alcohol stock and office supplies with the Events Manager Oversee IT and event-specific systems (e.g., Zkipster, Zoom, COS) and ensure proper use of event-related technology (e.g., iPads, iPods) What you’ll bring to the team Demonstrable experience in event planning, with knowledge of the auction industry and art market Flexible, proactive, and enthusiastic, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence and manage stakeholders effectively Articulate and confident, with a keen attention to detail and high standards of work Strong team player, capable of collaborating at senior management levels and delivering exceptional client service Leadership skills, with the ability to manage crises and remain calm under pressure Proven financial acumen, with experience managing event budgets, forecasts, and P&Ls Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally Ability to work collaboratively across all departments and maintain strong working relationships Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Visio) and event management systems Positive, dynamic attitude with a strong willingness to take on new assignments Adaptable to a flexible schedule, including long hours, weekends, and holidays when required by the business What’s great about working for us 25 days annual leave 1 day Birthday leave Christie’s Christmas office closure (guaranteed between 25th Dec – 2nd Jan) – in additional to annual leave: almost two weeks to fully switch off and spend time with friends and family Additional 1 week’s annual leave within the year of a 5-year anniversary i.e. 5th, 10th, 15th and so on Volunteering day: Take an additional day of annual leave to volunteer for a charitable organisation that’s important to you Donation matching of up to £500 per annum to help you support the organisations you care about Flexible Fitness Fund -
