This is a permanent position working a weekend shift pattern Friday, Saturday, Sunday 10:00am-10:00pm.

What does this corker of a job entail?
To provide effective quality control / assurance support to enable the Company to achieve, maintain and increase its business base. To provide technical support and assistance as required to production. To ensure that all raw materials are processed in accordance with the specification, to meet the demands of the bottling programme.
* Analytical Testing: Conduct analytical and organoleptic testing of bulk liquids upon delivery and of buying and pre-shipment samples in collaboration with the Wine Buyer and Laboratory Coordinator.
* Product and Blend Formulation: Calculate bulk additions to products and blends.
* Microbiological Testing: Perform microbiological testing post-production, including aseptic sampling of vats, water points, and tankers as needed.
* Technical Support: Provide essential technical information to other departments and external parties.
* Quality Assurance: Take responsibility for ensuring that all bulk liquids meet relevant technical specifications and manage out-of-specification procedures when necessary.
* Laboratory Management: Manage day-to-day laboratory operations independently of direct supervision.
* Safety and Compliance: Maintain high standards of product and personal safety in line with HSE, EHO, and HMCE requirements and participate in external audits.
* Continuous Improvement: Recommend and implement process improvements and maintain the calibration of internal lab equipment.
* Internal Auditing: Conduct internal audits across various functions to ensure compliance and generate improvement opportunities.
* Documentation and Record Keeping: Ensure all documentation and records are maintained to high standards as per ISO 9001:2000.
* Laboratory Presentation: Maintain a hygienic and well-presented laboratory standard suitable for a food manufacturing environment.
* Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with QA, tank room, planning, and production teams to support the bottling program and ensure effective communication at all levels.
Key Ingredients
* Educational Background: Degree in a relevant scientific field.
* Professional Experience: Proven experience in laboratory analysis, particularly in a food manufacturing or similar environment.
* Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards, and experience with SAP or similar systems would be advantageous.
* Soft Skills: Exceptional organisational skills, keen attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities.
