Collingtree A is a Trauma and Orthopeadic ward The post holder will work as an effective member of the team, providing quality administrative support to the wider team. The post holder must have a wide variety of communication skills and works well within a team. Answering telephone, taking messages and enquiries regarding patients’ condition after consultation with ward nursing staff and to adhere to the data protection as per policy. Operate patient administration computer system and ensure computer system is up to date at all times with details of all patients currently on the ward. Ensure all patient details on the computer are correct, including ethnic origin and religion. To ensure that all patient discharges and transfer details are recorded on the computer as soon as possible after the event. To ensure that that all patients admission, transfer and discharge details are recorded in a timely manner. Maintain an adequate supply of stock levels to maintain the smooth running of the ward. Be responsible for ensuring that case notes are available, file it as per protocol, maintain them in an orderly manner and return them appropriately after discharge letters are completed for coding purpose. Notify Next of Kin of patients’ admissions and (emergency) transfers if required by ward staff. To ensure the filing of patients notes is competed in a timely manner on admission and discharge.
