Position: Panel Shop Technician
ITAC’s Power Systems Division is a regional leader in the design, manufacture, installation, and servicing of industrial control and power system equipment. We are pleased to announce that our business is expanding again and we have openings for Full-time, direct hire Panel Shop Technicians at our Chester, Virginia Facility. If you are an experienced Industrial Control Panel Technician with a desire to build technically complex, custom, and very high-quality industrial control and power system equipment, please apply.
Pay: Varies from $20 to $34 per hour plus overtime depending on experience. A significant benefits package including health insurance and paid time off are available.
Responsibilities:
* Fabricate and wire custom designed electrical control and power system equipment
* Layout custom control panels using to-scale engineering drawings
* Read and understand electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
* Manage materials and subcomponents required for each job
* Operate tools of the trade such as electric saws, drills, strippers, crimpers, etc.
* Perform testing and checkout of control and power systems with engineering assistance
* Communicate with Project Managers and Engineers on project requirements, schedule, and management of open issues
* Recommend engineering design or other product changes that will improve efficiency and/or product quality
Minimum Qualifications:
* Good communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment with a focus on project success
* Strong attention to detail
* Basic computer skills (MS Office) and willingness to learn and use computer-based manufacturing programs
* Able to read and understand electrical control system schematics
* Qualified to work with energized power and control systems. ITAC will provide training on safe working practices related to energized equipment
* Owns and is proficient with the operation of basic hand tools. Employees supply their own basic hand tools and a power drill. ITAC provides specialized hand and power tools specific to the production of our equipment
* Proficient with the operation of specialized tools like jigsaw, drill press, band saw, bus bar shears, hydraulic punches, stud welders, plasma cutters, etc.
* High School or Equivalent Degree
* Motivated to work hard to get the job done and be well paid for it
Physical Requirements:
* Must be able to stand/walk for 8 hours per day
* Must be able to work with small components
* Lifting up to 50lbs occasionally
* Visual acuity (read small drawing text, colors, and device terminal numbers)
