Are you the kind of person who thrives when given the freedom to manage your own projects and deliver top-quality work within tight deadlines? If so, we might have the perfect opportunity for you.
We’re looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to take full ownership of projects from start to finish. This means you'll be responsible for everything from the initial design phase through to the final client handover. While experience programming control systems (Siemens) is a bonus, the primary focus is on electrical design, and we’re happy to adjust the role to fit your skills—whether you’re more electrical or software-biased.
In this role, you’ll design electrical systems using EPLAN, creating control panels, wiring diagrams, schematics, and all necessary documentation for varying voltages. If you’ve worked with Siemens control systems, that’s great, but it’s not a dealbreaker—what matters most is your experience in automation.
The role also involves commissioning UK-based projects. If your focus is electrical design, you can expect to be on-site for around 2 weeks per year; if your experience is more control systems-focused, the site visits may be more frequent. Don’t worry, though—no overseas travel is required.
You’ll join a growing team of engineers, including controls engineers, electrical design specialists, and dual-skilled engineers. Together, you’ll work across a full range of tasks, from costing and design to programming, technical sales, documentation, and commissioning. While the company works within the pharmaceutical industry, prior pharma experience is not necessary. What’s important is your background in automation, and we’re open to candidates from various industries.
This role offers a great deal of flexibility. You’ll be in the office in Liverpool on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, and then work remotely from home on Wednesday and Friday. Along with this hybrid working setup, the company offers progression opportunities, depending on your career goals. You’ll also be part of a supportive team environment where you can develop your skills further.
The salary on offer ranges from £40k-£55k, depending on experience. You’ll also receive a pension scheme to help you plan for the future alongside other benefits.
If this sounds like an opportunity that aligns with your skills and career ambitions, I’d love to chat with you further. Please feel free to reach out
