Senior Contracting Solicitor

Our Office of the General Counsel advises on a wide variety of risk issues that arise in the delivery of professional services across assurance, tax, and advisory sectors.

Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced commercial contracts lawyer for our in-house legal team. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Negotiating contracts with clients, including MSAs and public-sector framework agreements, and advising on contracts with subcontractors, suppliers, and others.
2. Improving standard terms of business based on negotiation experiences and issues encountered.
3. Handling various commercial contracting issues such as:
* Advising on local-country adoption contracts for global frameworks
* Agreements with Grant Thornton International member firms
* Data-sharing, secondment, and software supply contracts
* Interpreting contractual provisions for colleagues
* Providing legal input on termination clauses, NDAs, tender documents, and disclosure agreements
* Advising on risk management and compliance issues
1. Collaborating on collaboration, referral, and introduction agreements.
2. Working closely with the Office of the General Counsel and risk management team to advise and protect the firm’s stakeholders.
3. Mentoring less experienced lawyers and supporting their development.
4. Identifying risk trends and recommending mitigation strategies, including updating templates and procedures.
5. Educating colleagues on legal and risk issues through training and guidance materials.
Candidate Profile
The minimum requirements include:
* Qualified solicitor or barrister
* Experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts
* Knowledge of professional liability law
* Understanding of professional services contracting and risk management
* Pragmatic, solution-oriented approach
* Self-motivated with good multitasking skills
* Excellent communication and drafting skills
* Experience managing and mentoring colleagues
