We have an exciting opportunity for a highly experienced and commercially aware Director of Security and Estates.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Director of Security and Estates will be part of the Senior Leadership team and key member of the COO function and will have responsibility for all physical and people security at MTC.
This role will take on a wide range of responsibilities including developing the security and estates teams to ensure we protect our people, assets, and physical infrastructure from evolving risks, and internal and external threats.
You’ll be responsible for managing the MTC estate across all MTC operations, ensuring business requirements are met so our sites are safe and secure. You’ll deliver excellent facilities and security outcomes, drive continuous improvement and oversee and provide guidance in developing standards, policies and procedures.
You’ll be the subject matter expert, providing advice and guidance to Senior Leadership and relevant teams on how we continuously improve and evolve our security.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced individual to shape our security strategy in a constantly evolving role, work with key internal and external stakeholders, as well as grow and develop a high performing team.
Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
1. Leading the Security and Estates function in providing a professional, high-quality service to ensure our people, assets and physical infrastructure are protected from evolving risks, and internal and external threats.
2. Leading the Security and Estates function in the design, maintenance and monitoring of processes, policies and procedures, ensuring that our facilities and security requirements are aligned to business and government regulations.
3. Building and leading a high-performance team culture, setting clear goals and expectations, providing feedback and coaching, and developing talent.
4. Working with key stakeholders, customers, government bodies, and subject matter experts to design and deliver a strong business plan for our facilities and physical security.
5. Developing key relationships with national security agencies/police force, MTC customers and internal and external supply chains and construction contractors.
6. Oversight and compliance with security and resilience for Critical National Infrastructure and Defence National Infrastructure.
7. Working with relevant agencies or partner organisations to ensure MTC and contractors are compliant in security related governance.
8. Leading the delivery of expertise and standards relating to MTC and customer specific requirements, including any responsibilities relating to vetting of colleagues, suppliers etc.
9. Providing direction for the procurement of new facilities, contracts and suppliers.

2. Awareness of latest industry trends, emerging technologies, government standards and best practices across UK Manufacturing and how this influences, shapes sector strategy.
3. Strong leadership skills, with the ability to build and lead high-performance teams, inspire others, and drive results.
4. The ability to establish credibility to influence senior internal and external stakeholders.
5. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse set of stakeholders at all levels of seniority.
6. The ability and experience of responding to rapidly changing business priorities and be focused on continuous improvement.
7. A pro-active approach to anticipating risks and identifying trends.
8. A professional qualification (Level 5 Diploma or higher), ideally in security management.
9. Experience of leading and managing internal teams and external consultants and contractors, using direct and matrix methods.
10. Strong business planning skills and experience with the ability to manage complex environments with many diverse requirements and stakeholders. Act as a role model within the MTC values.
