Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join our team at the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR).
The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping and supporting the development of our infrastructure and program contracts, driving forward initiatives that enhance public health and innovation.
About the Role
As a Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for drafting and maintaining contracts through which the Department of Health and Social Care funds NIHR research.
You will provide specialist contractual advice to NIHR colleagues across the three coordinating centres on NIHR template agreements, charity co-funding agreements, and contractor collaboration agreements.
In this vital role, you will support the cross-centre rollout of new contractual terms, provide advice and support to DHSC on contract development, and keep abreast of policy issues relating to the research funding environment in the UK.
Key Responsibilities

* Keep up-to-date with policy issues affecting research contracts
* Maintain a good understanding of legislation and regulations affecting research
* Liaise with NIHR programme teams on contractual issues
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will have experience of drafting and negotiating research contracts, familiarity with the research funding landscape in the UK, and awareness of government policies relating to research and innovation.
You will also have excellent negotiation skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to explain complex contractual terms to a lay audience.
