We are recruiting for a Management Accountant to join a fast-growing SME, based in Crawley. The Management Accountant will be responsible for carrying out the entire Finance Function on a day-to-day basis. You will play a key role in managing our client’s financial operations, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, and supporting business decision-making. Working closely with senior leadership, this person will have the opportunity to grow into a more strategic role while maintaining a hands-on approach to finance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Oversee management accounting, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
2. Streamline processes where appropriate.
3. Manage purchase ledger and credit control functions.
4. Collaborate with our external accounting agency to ensure smooth financial operations.
5. Support cash flow management, budgeting, and forecasting.
6. Provide financial insights to support business decisions and growth strategies.
7. Ensure financial controls and processes are maintained and improved where necessary.
8. Assist with project accounting as needed (though extensive experience in this is not required).
9. Work closely with internal stakeholders, offering finance-related guidance where necessary.
10. Adopt a proactive, can-do attitude, supporting the broader team with tasks outside of core responsibilities when required.
11. Confidently advise team members about finance matters.
Requirements
1. Experience in management accounting and financial operations.
2. A strong attention to detail with the ability to also think strategically as well as being hands-on with the day-to-day duties.
3. Proactive, self-motivated, and able to take initiative.
4. Strong experience with Microsoft Suite, including Excel.
5. Comfortable advising non-finance colleagues on financial matters.
6. Experience in purchase ledger and credit control.
7. AAT Level qualification (or higher) OR QBE would be considered.
8. A hands-on approach and willingness to support a small, dynamic team.
9. Experience in a project-based business.
10. Background in manufacturing (bespoke products).
