We are currently seeking to recruit a friendly and trustworthy support worker to work alongside a family, therapy team and case manager to support a delightful 13-year-old boy with complex care needs, in his own home. He has cerebral palsy and mobility support needs. He uses a wheelchair and is currently starting to use his powered wheelchair independently. He requires support using a hoist for transfers. He enjoys lots of play and interaction from his current staff and family.
You will need to have had a minimum of 3 years overall experience working in health and social care, as a carer or support worker, and some experience of working with children, preferably within the community.
The ideal candidate will have an understanding of:
- Brain Injuries,
- Cerebral Palsy
- Epilepsy
However, full training on the child’s specific needs will be given.
We are currently looking for someone who can work a regular Monday afternoon shift - 2pm to 8pm (6 hours), with the opportunity for additional ad hoc hours when required, to cover staff sickness, annual leave, so it is important that the support worker can be flexible as part of a rota, across 7 days/ nights of the week, when needed.
We aim to offer a competitive salary of £15.48 - £17.58 per hour, depending on shift times/ days.
This is an excellent opportunity for a support worker to join an extremely rewarding package of care where you will have an opportunity to be part of a team. By joining this family, and developing and maintaining professional working relationships, you will be playing a key part in helping to develop the child’s goals and day to day activities.
If you think you have the skills and experience required for this post, we would love to hear from you.
