This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e., child and/or adult), then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
Please note: As this post is part-time, the salary will be pro-rata.
As part of a multidisciplinary team, the post holder will provide care to children and families in support of the Health Visitor (HV) role.
To undertake a range of duties including responsibility for an assigned caseload for carers and pre-school children on a daily basis and be accountable for the planning, implementation, evaluation, and delivery of care for this caseload under the supervision of the Health Visitor.
The post holder will be responsible for managing their time effectively, prioritising their work based on patient need, supporting mothers or carers with infant feeding according to agreed guidelines, recognising and reporting any concerns on child protection issues to the appropriate staff nurse/health visitor, and contributing to discussions relating to child protection issues.
The post holder will independently manage child development reviews and monitoring within a clinic, home, or other community setting, recognising key developmental milestones and referring on where appropriate, accurately documenting the care carried out in accordance with organisational policies and guidelines.
Encourage children’s holistic development and raise carer’s awareness, including provision of health education and advice and programmes of play in a variety of settings. This could be on a one-to-one basis or in a group setting.
Work within organisational policies, procedures, and standards to ensure the maintenance of safe working practices.
The post will include participation in a personal development plan to maintain current skills and develop personal growth through education and training.
