About the Role
As a Senior Process Improvement Engineer within our Stallingborough Process Engineering team, you will work in a team of process engineers to provide process engineering expertise to support capital improvement projects from conception through to commissioning. You will use your substantial process engineering knowledge, and experience to lead improvement and support development of the site 5 year plan.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Provide process engineering expertise and leadership to support the site capital programme from conception through to completion
2. Provide process engineering design deliverables for capital projects Design basis, HAZOP, LOPA, datasheets
3. Provide process engineering expertise to support the operations teams to ensure continued safe operation of the production plant
4. Identify future improvement projects that align with the company strategy of Safe, Quality, Low Cost, Sustainable Tonnes (SQLCST)
5. Demonstrate sound understanding of process safety issues, equipment, and standards industry wide
6. Work with operators and the operations day team to commission and implement projects
7. Mentor and coach junior members of the department and peer reviewing / approving work output
About You
To be considered for this role, you will hold the following qualifications and skills:
8. Degree qualified in Chemical Engineering, ideally to MEng level and preferably Chartered
9. Minimum 7 years process engineering experience working with both batch and continuous processes, preferably on Upper Tier COMAH sites
10. Proven knowledge and understanding of process design, calculations, specification and commissioning
11. Demonstrated effective use of and adherence to legislative Process Safety systems and procedures
12. Desire to challenge the status quo, identify problems, and implement solutions
13. Able to work autonomously, manage multiple priorities, and influence others across multiple levels of the organisation
14. Demonstrated process safety experience including HAZOPs, PHAs, SIL Assessments
15. Knowledge of continuous improvement, problem solving, and analytical tools / techniques
16. Experience of structured incident investigations using root cause analysis techniques
17. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
18. Strong computer literacy (advance MS Excel, exposure to MS Project, Minitab, Power BI, SharePoint would be an advantage)
19. Experience in the TiO2 pigment industry would be an advantage
