We are seeking a talented and motivated Manufacturing Engineering Team Leader to join our dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities:
Role Summary:
Become a key player in our team as a Manufacturing Engineering Team Leader and help us drive forward our ambitious goals. You will be responsible for leading a core team of up to eight within the manufacturing engineering team. This role focuses on supporting and enhancing the Falmouth Value Streams through manufacturing excellence and lean engineering practices. The incumbent will utilise leadership techniques with self-directed teams methodology to ensure the team is focused, achieving self-derived KPIs, and embodying the Watson-Marlow core values of safety, excellence, integrity, respect, collaboration, and communication.
What you’ll be doing:
You will lead and manage a team of manufacturing engineers, technicians and associated technical roles to support the Pump Assembly and Tubing value streams.
Implement and promote lean engineering practices to drive manufacturing excellence.
Utilise self-directed teams methodology to ensure team focus and achievement of KPIs.
Deliver New Product Introductions (NPI) and transform manufacturing processes and cells.
Enhance customer focus, improve safety, and achieve excellence in manufacturing operations.
Lead projects using DMAIC Six Sigma project management to deliver improvements to the AX MRP System and embed CRM in the business.
Develop high-level proposals for new infra-red curing technology for silicone tubing.
Management of Change and support Quality Records Review for the Pumps & Tubing value streams.
Coach and mentor direct reports and project teams in Lean, Quality, Project Management, and EHS methodologies.
Actively participate in the Level 2 Self-Directed Team (SDT), pushing for proactive improvements and supporting the wider business.
Establish and maintain a support tracker system to better serve customers, ensuring requests are collected, triaged, and resolved within agreed timescales with a focus on effective lean solutions.

You will be working across all business units within the organisation.
Internal Stakeholders:
Value Streams: Collaborate closely with the production value streams to ensure manufacturing processes are efficient and meet quality standards.
Quality Department: Work with QA to maintain high standards and address any quality issues promptly.
TPM Team: Coordinate with TPM to ensure machinery and equipment are functioning optimally.
Supply Chain: Engage with supply chain to ensure timely delivery of materials and components.
Human Resources: Partner with HR for recruitment, training, and development of team members.
Group Engineering Function: Work with group engineering teams to integrate new technologies and innovations into manufacturing processes.
External Stakeholders:
Equipment / System Suppliers: Maintain strong relationships with suppliers to develop and enhance manufacturing capabilities for the value streams at Falmouth.
Skills/Experience:

Strong knowledge of lean engineering practices and Six Sigma methodologies.
