Job summary The Podiatry Service in the North Staffordshire area is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated HCPC Registered Band 7 Advanced Diabetes Podiatrist to join our award-winning Podiatry Service. As a valued and passionate member of our team you will provide assessment, treatment and management / wound care for high-risk patients with complex foot ulceration. Utilising your excellent interpersonal and communication skills you will drive initiatives to improve and enhanceoutcomes for patients. You will be able to make a real impact within our service and provision of care by working either independently or within multidisciplinary teams in the community mainly with links to consultant-led outpatient clinics. There will also be involvement with health education and training events. Due to the nature of this role, you will be expected to travel independently over a large geographical area in North Staffordshire area to work within in various settings including clinics and domiciliary. Main duties of the job You will provide assessments, working with service users to develop needs and outcome focussed treatment/support plans. Assesses service users and formulates, develops, implements and evaluates programmes of treatment /care/support for individuals, families and carers. As part of this role your will be expected to: Work closely with uni/multi-disciplinary teams/agencies in addressing a range of care/support issues across the spectrum of conditions, preventing unnecessary hospital admissions. Take a leadin the management of complex cases within the field of diabetes / wound management, supporting other staff and co-working when needed. Provide advice and support others including co-working cases with the less experienced and unregistered staff. Participate in and support staff to apply eligibility criterion and quality assurance processes. Provide supervisory, training and leadership responsibilities where appropriate and will have some responsibility for team performance and service developments/improvements and demonstrate initiative and creativity in finding solutions to problems. May be required to deputise for the Operational Lead in a professional capacity as required along with supporting and overseeing excellent podiatry practice through mentorship and day to day guidance to team members and other professionals.
