Job Title: Lead Visual Merchandiser (Fashion)
Location: Cardiff
Hours: 37.5 hours a week - Monday - Friday
Salary: Competitive DOE
Our client, a UK leader in the fashion retail industry, is offering an outstanding employment opportunity. The client, a large and dynamic company, continues to enjoy sustained growth. You will report directly to the Head of Merchandising/Merchandising Director.
Role Requirements
This role plays an integral part in creating and implementing the Company’s Visual Merchandising strategy. You will be generating and managing the VM layouts and guidelines, supporting the Retail department in driving these guidelines operationally, continually looking for ways to drive the performance of the department/company forward.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Plan and create the brand's visual concepts and guidelines for seasonal ranges and shop-in-shops.
2. Develop and manage the creative direction for current and new stores, ensuring all creative work fits with the overarching brand vision.
3. Manage the store portfolio look and feel, including visual merchandising, POS, windows, layouts, standards, and fittings.
4. You will be involved in selecting stock for photoshoots and campaigns, as well as selecting images for in-store POS.
5. Work collaboratively on the design of window schemes and implementing the window schemes in-store.
6. Develop the creative direction for in-store visual offers including in-store creative treatments, visual merchandising, and window displays.
7. Concept and manage the design and development of all new fixtures & fittings.
8. Overall design and direction for all retail shop fits to ensure the brand continues to move forward.
9. Work closely with Retail, Buying, and Merchandising to align communications in line with the product vision.
10. Collaborate with the e-commerce and digital marketing teams to ensure one tone of voice across all touch points.
11. Manage budgets and work closely with external agencies.
Experience & Skills Required
1. Expertise in leading a VM team in a fashion retail environment.
2. Strong understanding of the market, target customer, and brand positioning.
3. Market, commercial, and competitor awareness.
4. Experience in branding, layout, window design, and in-store visual merchandising.
5. Financial and budget control.
6. Excellent eye for detail and a strong interest in current and future design trends.
