Supplier and Contract Manager, hybrid/Brighton, salary up to £59,500

As a DDaT Supplier and Contract Manager, you will have oversight of all contracts within the DDaT portfolio and will seek to drive value for money, implement the DDaT strategy and commercial roadmap, and drive long-term service outcomes and cost reductions through roadmap alignment of commercial contracts, architecture, and delivery plans as well as effective coordination of supplier management processes. You will act as key liaison and coordination between DDaT operational and technical teams and Finance and Commercial Teams.

What you’ll be doing:
1. Take ownership and development of the strategic DDaT commercial roadmap to optimise value for money, service efficiencies, and long-term cost reductions through technology and contract consolidations.
2. Evaluate existing suppliers and contracts to advise on current capabilities, needs, and future requirements and develop supply chain strategy and plans.
3. Analyse supplier and contract data to predict trends in demand and costs.
4. Conduct market research and analysis to identify opportunities to enable DDaT strategies, improve products and services, and reduce costs.
5. Act as the primary point of contact to ensure effective management of all DDaT contracts.
6. Identify, assess, manage, and report on contract and supply chain risks relating to DDaT.
7. Manage supplier performance and costs using SLAs, benchmarks, and KPIs, and identify and oversee performance improvement opportunities.
8. Assist service transition plans to ensure contractual support of production systems is clear and understood.
9. Collaborate closely with Commercial, Finance, and DDaT digital and service delivery teams.
10. Create annual DDaT budget relating to commercial contracts (excluding employee costs).
11. Perform ongoing budget management including spend tracking/forecasting, reporting, and invoice/purchase requests approvals.
12. Maintain an ongoing understanding of the external DDaT supplier landscape and emerging technologies and opportunities.
13. Promote commercial awareness and activities across DDaT and oversee cost savings initiatives.
What you’ll need:
1. Extensive knowledge and experience of the commercial lifecycle within the public sector.
2. Roadmap management: Experience of creating and delivering a long-term commercial roadmap for digital function.
3. Understanding of using 3rd parties to deliver technology programmes, as well as key technology considerations.
4. In-depth awareness and experience of Government standards and industry best practice within Supplier Relationship Management e.g., Government Commercial Function Guidance.
5. Comprehensive understanding and experience of managing suppliers including supplier performance, service levels, development, benchmarking, and understanding of sub-contract markets.
6. Sound understanding of economic factors impacting market sectors and approaches to minimise cost pressures and reduce commercial risk.
7. Proven track record delivering savings through optimising commercial solutions while maintaining credibility and a long-term supplier relationship.
8. Experience of liaising, consulting, and meeting with key stakeholders to understand business drivers and goals.
