Civils Project Manager (Highways)
Location: Luton (Hybrid working available)
Salary: £44,428 - £47,420 + £3203 Car Allowance + 20.20% Pension + Sick Pay + Enhanced Holiday + Career Progression + Work/Life Balance + Staff Discounts
Working Hours: Monday - Friday (Days / 37 hours per week)
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Civils Project Manager from a Highways background to join one of the UK's Local Government Organisations in a highly technical and autonomous role offering excellent benefits and career progression opportunities.
In this role you will support the Major Projects Manager in providing an integrated approach to project management, contract administration, and delivery of schemes arising primarily from the following areas:
1. Traffic engineering
2. Traffic signals
3. Public lighting
4. Civil engineering
and similar or related projects of any nature whether for the Council or any other body in the public or private sector.
The ideal candidate will need to have extensive experience in traffic engineering, civil engineering, public lighting, traffic signals engineering, and substantial experience of project management. An in-depth knowledge of budget monitoring, forecasting, and successful bidding for external funding is essential to the post.
The Role:
1. Manage the Traffic Engineering, Civil Engineering, Public Lighting, and Traffic Signals to ensure that the aims and performance standards are met within legislation and in accordance with department and Council objectives and standards.
2. Take responsibility for ensuring that all projects are delivered within time and budget constraints and in accordance with the Council's own and other legal and professional requirements.
3. Assist in the preparation, monitoring, financial and administrative control of the Highways Services work programmes.
4. Assist in the preparation and submission of bids for external funding and in the preparation of policies and strategies e.g. the Local Transport Plan.
