Role and Responsibilities:
The role involves applying a broad technical background to deliver technical solutions and work closely with stakeholders and technology teams. In this role, you will influence enterprise-wide projects by providing essential technical design and architecture expertise.
What you’d expect to do day-to-day:
* Help support the design and architecture of the new systems as well as changes to existing systems within the framework.
* Work closely to guide and support the Client’s IT supply chain in the day-to-day technical project delivery
* Review what is there currently and look to create new or amend existing designs.
* Work out how everything fits together and work with the organisation to create new, improve, or modify, existing infrastructures
* The ability to work consultatively and influence organisational thinking.
The skills you’ll need:
* Proven IT solution delivery experience across multiple management levels.
* Microsoft Infrastructure (including SQL Server, Active Directory, Windows 10/11/Server) and Networking (Cisco is desirable) skills/experience are essential.
* Linux and Azure Cloud Infrastructure skills are desirable (with supporting relevant certifications).
* Stakeholder Engagement - Work with Subject Matter Experts across the business and 3rd party’s technology suppliers.
* Demonstrable expertise in delivering IT services and resources from inception to production, taking ownership and responsibility for design.
* Enterprise awareness with a technical head – Experience in Networks and infrastructure solutions (Windows/Linux) to produce high-level designs (HLDs) and low-level design outputs (where applicable).
* Delivering results against complex technical, logistical, commercial and cultural challenges or constraints, whilst endeavouring to align to available digital strategies.
Your location and work environment:
The position is based in Edinburgh and requires some onsite work, depending on organisational need, offering a dynamic environment with varied technologies.
