Department Function Job Summary/Purpose The Planning Scheduler is responsible for maintaining the production schedule for all products manufactured by the company. They will work closely with Production, Technical/Design and Procurement to ensure that BU orders are fulfilled on time and that inventory levels are maintained. As part of the Planning team, develop and deliver the planning and scheduling capability for operations within Taylor Wimpey Manufacturing. Primary Responsibilities To ensure that BU deliveries are planned in a timely and cost-effective manner and to meet the customer delivery times and to maintain optimum and efficient use of lorry resource. To ensure that the 3rd Party transport company are aware of deliveries/collections and appropriate documentation is supplied to them. Responsible for the input and maintenance of the delivery schedule. Maintain accurate records of shipments, including documentation and tracking information. Send out all information for deliveries in a timely manner. To be a point of contact for Drivers and to allocate work instructions. To be aware of the status of drivers in respect of deliveries and delays. Ensure that customer enquiries are dealt with in a professional, timely and competent manner. To ensure that communication channels are open and maintained with all stakeholders. To ensure that any returned loads are logged on the system. Maintain the production plan and ensure the plan is in line with BU requirements. To produce weekly & monthly production schedules. Work with BUs to expedite high importance orders. Releasing job ordered to production in line with ERP requirements, targets. Planning and prioritising operations to ensure maximum performance. Liaising with purchasing on material shortages. Review and update monthly production plans and analyse bottlenecks. Ensure all purchased finished items are delivered to plan. Support with any ad-hoc administration tasks or duties deemed necessary by the business. Experience, Qualifications, Technical Requirements Good Numeracy accuracy with strong attention to detail for precise data entry Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office & other systems ie. SAGE Confidence in building strong working relationships both internally and with key stakeholders whilst working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Previous experience in production and capacity planning. Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with excellent organisational skills.
