Job responsibilities
To provide continuity of care for the groups of children within the day nursery ensuring that each child is provided with a safe, secure, emotionally, and physically stimulating environment and programme of activities in which to develop.
Key Responsibilities:
1. To be able to work within a child's day nursery ensuring that each child is provided with a safe and secure, emotionally and physically stimulating environment and programme of activities in which to develop.
2. To plan and provide as a group a wide range of activities for a group of children, which covers all aspects of the EYFS and individual child development.
3. To be fully responsible for the children in your care, providing a consistently safe and secure and stimulating environment.
4. To work as part of a team with other staff members to ensure children receive the highest standards of care.
5. Ensure that accidents/individual problems with children, staff or parents are brought to the manager's attention.
6. Maintain a high standard of cleanliness within the nursery, promoting personal hygiene standards through monitoring toilet procedures as well as maintaining cleanliness in the playroom and surrounding areas.
7. Assist in preparation and serving of meals and supervising meal times.
8. Attending regular training sessions.
9. Attending termly staff training and development days.
10. Assist in out of hours events such as fetes, open evenings.
11. Nursery Practitioners must at all times respect the principle of confidentiality of information gained through their work.
12. To be a key worker to a group of children supporting them through their learning and development journey.
13. To have a sound knowledge of safeguarding children and follow local policies and procedures for raising concerns.

Experience
* Experience of working as a key person in an early years setting with children aged 6 months to 5 years.
Knowledge
* Knowledge of Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum.
* Knowledge of key stages and theories of Child Development & Ofsted Framework.
Qualifications
* NVQ Level 3 in Early Years Education or Ofsted recognised equivalent qualification.
* Grade C or above in English.
* At least 1 year post-qualification experience.
